Our school is involved in an Erasmus project. This is a two year project and it is called Past Generations; New Innovations. We are working with schools from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Norway and Spain. The choice of the project 'Past Generations, New Innovations' comes from appreciation of the teaching and learning of local history in schools throughout Europe. The priority of the project is to instill a 'sense of place' in the children with regard to their local community and local area around the school. The project will cover the areas of local buildings, the lives of people living in the local community through the years, local myths and legends, sports in the area, local arts and crafts, and food and customs in the area. A further priority is to implement this focus on local history through the median of modern technologies. We want to create a bridge in our communities across the generation gap, where young people researching local history will learn from older people who in turn will learn about the uses and impact of new technology in the education process.
